I like a lot of free online games however, if I had to choose a favorite genre I would have to choose adventure games. These games give me an ability to escape reality that I do not find in other games. Not only am I able to live out my fantasies through my computer screen, I am also able to relieve the stress which builds up in my everyday life and prevents me from reaching my maximum productivity.
I know it may sound unbelievable that a game can help you be more productive in other areas of your life, but it is true. Regardless of what your mother told you about video games rotting your brain, the truth is that we all need the ability to get away some times. If you are not able to take advantage of those opportunities in your everyday life then taking advantage of them through a video game is the perfect solution.
For example, I will not be able to go on a Caribbean fishing trip anytime in the near future however, with the use of a high quality fishing game I can go on my lunch break. This is the reason that I like online adventure games so much. They allow me to go places that my normal life will never allow me to go. I may be just an everyday secretary for 7 hours a day, but when I am on my lunch hour I am a hero which saved the world from the threat of a alien invasion. I know that this is just a fantasy but it is enough for me to return to the rest of my work day feeling rejuvenated and ready to work.
Without the ability to break up the monotony of my day, I think I would have burned out a long time ago. Thanks to free online games I can easily break up my routine by playing a new game for free every day of the week.
